In my role as a Digital Copywriter for Open Sesame, I wrote immediately understandable and SEO-optimized content for the customers' initial view. For context, Open Sesame is a locksmithing business located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Below is a series of shots that demonstrates text-based and content grouping issues that were found and what content was written or edited to improve upon them.
There were a number of actions that were initially displayed without hierarchal distinction resulting in customer confusion. two phone numbers and a Call Us Now!" made up a series of redundancies. Additionally, there was an outdated Facebook button as well as an unfriendly email format.
The version below is how the site CTA text was actually written and designed initially, the version above is an aesthetic demonstration.
The two phone numbers were condensed into one to make the site more accessible, Redundant text was removed, and color was used to create a visualized hierarchy
A short yet undetailed text heading was replaced with a more detailed, SEO-optimized, description of Open Seasme's services.
The new heading of the website was enhanced by adding the primary CTA of the landing page directly underneath the heading.
Initial meeting with the client to understood what their goals are with the site, areas of concern they have identified with their website (if any), as well as how committed they are to certain aesthetic decisions already implemented.
I completed a product audit for the landing page. I analyzed and annotated aspects of the site that could be improved, whether that be simplifying or subtraction content, or writing it.
A website that immediately communicates to potential customers what services are on offer and how to contact the business. Improvement in SEO optimization to increase the chances of local organic discovery and improved rate of incoming contact.
